I. Call to Order
Ms. Barrett called the meeting to order at 6:03pm.

II. Welcome
Ms. Barrett welcomed everyone to the meeting.

III. Comments from the public
There were none.

IV. Specifications of Other Items to be Added to the Agenda
Wages of Employment by Mr. Szakos
Region Ten Clubhouse in Louisa, Region Ten Group home in Louisa and the future clinic in Nelson by Mr. Belair to be added to Region Ten Inc.

V. Chairman’s Remarks
Ms. Barrett introduced the new Board member from the City of Charlottesville, Mr. Joe Szakos. Mr. Szakos introduced his daughter, 15-year old, Anna.

VI. Approval of the July 11th Board Meeting Minutes

ON A MOTION MADE BY MR. BELAIR AND SECONDED BY MR. SHERAS, THE MINUTES OF THE July 11, 2005 BOARD MEETING WERE UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED.

VII. Executive Director’s Report
Mr. Campbell summarized his written report, as well as the reports of the division director’s, which each board member received. In addition to his report, Mr. Campbell introduced Region Ten’s new Consumer Advocate, Kenneth Moore. Mr. Campbell gave a brief summary of the Virginia’s Human Services Training Center and its director, Cynthia Harrison. Ms. Harrison went into further detail about the VHST and the individuals they serve. A handout was given referencing the VHST.

VIII. Executive Committee Report
Revisions of Bylaws (Vote Needed)
The Board members received and read over the new proposed Bylaws.

ON A MOTION MADE BY MS. HAMMOND AND SECONDED BY MR. SHERAS, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY AGREED TO ADOPT THE NEW PROPOSED BYLAWS.

Ms. Barrett assigned Board member to the following committees:

There was none.

X. VACSB Update
Ms. Barrett gave a brief update on the VACSB providing the Board with a handout of a new transformation process to be implemented for Virginia’s MHMRSAS.

XI. Other Business
Wages paid to employees.
Mr. Szakos stated that he would like to know how many Region Ten employees were being paid between $9.30 and $10.00 an hour for discussion at the next Board meeting regarding the poverty level.

XV. Region Ten, Inc.
A. Approval of the July 11th Board Meeting minutes

ON A MOTION MADE BY MR. BELAIR AND SECONDED BY MR. SHERAS THE MINUTES OF THE July 11, 2005 BOARD MEETING WERE UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED.

B. Update of Mountainwood Property
Mr. Campbell gave a brief update on 500 Old Lynchburg Road.

Mr. Belair requested information about the daily schedule of the Clubhouse in Louisa as well as information about the contractor’s contacted in regards to the Pine Ridge Residence Group Home.

Mr. Cameron stated that the Nelson County Clinic was in need of an expansion to help alleviate the tight working conditions and provide more comfort to the staff and clients served and the clinic.
