Increase Public Awareness of Region Ten and its Services

Board and Consumer Advisory Council narrows advocacy focus to minimum of 3 target areas (affordable housing, reduce foster care, employment)

Maintain ongoing public awareness campaign

Implement Legislative Plan

Develop plans to educate local governments

Develop process to educate individual policy makers

Advocate for Resources

Develop formal process to collect and organize data on charity care and unmet needs

Board takes more active role in informing local governments about Region Ten needs

Determine per person per program cost to be able to effectively advocate for resources

Advocate for Charlottesville Transit System bus route

Kick start public policy subcommittee of Board and strengthen tie with Virginia Association of Community Services Boards

Support and be Informed by Consumer Advocates

Consumer advocate will serve on the board’s public policy committee

Include in town hall meeting update from Consumer Advisory Council and consumer advocate

Plan summit/forum/interagency summits for human service agencies to assist with collaboration & partnering to better meet the needs of the community

Develop & be informed by partnership with People First and ID

Develop & be informed by partnership with PARA & Substance Abuse services

Develop & be informed by partnership with VOCAL, On Our Own and MH services

Consumer Advisory Council will participate in the development of the agency targeted advocacy issues and resources
